This is how you'll insert lettering into a design.
Lettering
The lettering tab will allow you to insert lettering into your design. We offer 23 built-in fonts. Letters insert as editable satin blocks, so you can reshape and resize them after inserting.
Resizable lettering
Built-in fonts insert as satin blocks (one group per character). After inserting, you can resize them on the canvas — stitch density updates with the shape.
Pro members can also upload custom fonts (TTF, OTF, or TTC). Simple bold fonts work best.
Lettering Inputs
Font
This is a dropdown list of fonts. You can scroll through and pick from 23 built-in styles. Algerian and College are uppercase-only.
Size
Size is the starting height in inches for the selected font (typically 0.25 in or 0.5 in; PES also includes 0.75 in). After insert, you can resize the letters on the canvas.
Text
Is an input box for you to type out the text you want to insert. Keep in mind, it will respect spaces and line breaks. Most built-in fonts include A–Z, a–z, 0–9, and these punctuation characters: ! # $ ' ( ) * , - . / : ; ? @

Custom fonts (Pro)
Upload a TTF, OTF, or TTC file from the lettering tab. Custom fonts also insert as satin blocks. Results will vary depending on the complexity of the font.
